Taking An Evening (or two) to Work Exclusively on the Math Journal
Home Nugget #26
Journal instructions were handed out on Monday October 16.
A sample response was shared and discussed in great detail on Tuesday October 17.
Students agreed that putting together a thorough and worthwhile product required them to break the assignment into pieces and to answer about two questions a night.
By tomorrow, at least half of the journal questions should be answered in their entirety such that five questions remain for Thurs to Sun.
(Students were taking the BPS Predictive Tests for ELA and Math on Wed. and Thurs. so we did not have a chance to have any formal math lessons/investigations during these two days)

Taking a Second Crack at Solving Equations for a Specific Variable
Given that last Friday we didn't have sufficient time to really delve into the mechanics of solving equations for a specific variable, today we took the time to really do so in a thorough way. As such, I want to afford students one more night to attack the assigned problems and this time be able to focus on accurate solutions.
